Jesus Christ is King at Friendship Baptist Church. Friendship Baptist Church is an Independent Baptist church, and we believe:

• The Bible is the infallible word of God
• Jesus Christ is the Son of God
• Jesus Christ was born of a virgin birth
• Jesus Christ walked among men and was without sin
• Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin
• God sacrificed His Son through the shedding of His blood on a cross – the perfect and complete payment of our sin debt
• Jesus Christ arose from the grave victorious and sits at the right hand of God
• Jesus Christ is coming again
• There is a heaven and a hell and a final judgment
• To spend eternity in heaven, you must ask God to forgive your sins and accept Christ as your personal Savior. Those whose names are not written in the Lamb’s book of life will spend eternity in hell

Just as the Thessalonian Christians had been taught by the Apostle Paul all of the truths of their faith, the body of believers at Friendship Baptist Church have also been taught these same basic teachings.  They are sometimes referred to as The Doctrines of the Faith, and can be found in 1 Thessalonians.  They are as follows:

THE DOCTRINES OF THE FAITH 

1.           The Lord’s choosing or election (1 Thes. 1:4) 

2.           The Holy Spirit and His work (1 Thes. 1:5-6; 4:8; 5:19) 

3.           The safety of believers or assurance (1 Thes. 1:5) 

4.           The Trinity (1 Thes. 1:1, 5-6) 

5.           The Christian’s manner of living (1 Thes. 1:9; 2:12; 4:1)  

6.           The Second Coming (1 Thes. 1:10; 2:19; 3:13; 4:14-17; 5:23) 

7.           The Sanctification or holy separated living (1 Thes. 4:3; 5:23) 

8.           The Day of the Lord (1 Thes. 5:1-3) 

9.           The Resurrection (1 Thes. 4:14-18) 

10.         The created-in-the-image of God nature of man (1 Thes. 5:23)
